Mrs. Comincioli's Classroom Corner

About

Welcome to Mrs. Comincioli’s intermediate class at Lincoln School in Mundelein, Illinois, USA.  We are a multi-age class of 4th and 5th grade students.

Our curriculum includes language arts, which consists of writing, reading, vocabulary, and spelling, math, science, social studies, problem based learning, technology and social skills. Our integrated themes are on a two year cycle.  This year we are focusing on water and weather, matter, human body, immigration, and living things.  Next year we will be studying electricity, light, beginning of a new nation, animals, and the civil war.  Our specials classes include pe, bodily kinesthetic, music, art, library, and tech.  We also incorporate the multiple intelligences into all aspects of our curriculum.  Students can particpate in Lincoln singers, student council, and after school clubs.  Fifth grade students participate in the DARE program, Camp Duncan (an outdoor education program) and band.

What a great start to a new interesting blogsite. Good work,” Mrs. C,” in taking on a new avenue in computers and opening up a way for everyone to follow you and your students as you explore new things throughout the school year! Good luck, have fun with this and it will be a site that I will enjoy revisiting.

Thanks for your comments! It would be good to keep in touch – I’m sure my class will have lots of questions they would like to ask about your class – would it be ok for us to create a thread on our blog with our questions and maybe your students could prepare some answers? We would be happy to do the same of course! We have added a link to your blog in our side bar!

Wow, another 4/5 combo class! Our class is taught by 2 teachers and has 45 students, all 4th and 5th graders. We are in Greensboro, North Carolina.

It would be great to talk more about multi-aging and maybe try some collaborative work online!

    Ana -

That would be great! I would love to talk with you more about mult-age classes and try some collaborate work online! Do you have a class blog also? I am new to blogging, so we are still learning how this all works! The students are really enjoying it!

The image you are referring too (the 6 light bulbs) was taken from free clip art through Microsoft. The link is http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/clipart/default.aspx

Was there anything else from our blog that you were interested in using, or was it just that picture?

    Thanks!
